Welcome

Some of you may remember the MacLachlan's who worked as missionaries in Ethiopia for many years. As a church we supported them and they regularly sent us updates about themselves and their work.
They are now residents of the U.S. for the first time in 30 years.
As they were leaving Ethiopia, an opportunity arose for Mark to work with SIM Ethiopia - coordinating new agriculture work in grain and vegetable crop production. He leaves for Ethiopia on February 7th for 2 weeks for this work against a background of armed conflict and fertilizer shortages. We are asked to pray for the continued and expanding ministry which involves supporting and equipping missionaries and facilitating workshops, coaching , mentoring etc. and also to pray for a smooth settlement back into life in the States.
The family are now living in Jonesboro, Georgia.
If anybody wishes further information please speak to me.

Blythswood Care

Blythswood 1

Most of you are aware that a group of us at Maxwell help sort shoeboxes in November for sending to Eastern Europe. Throughout the year we collect all kinds of things to add to the boxes, to even them out, so that all the boxes are of the same quality. If we have large donations of some things we make up boxes ready for November. We all get very excited if we come across "bargains" when we are out shopping. We are always on the lookout for empty shoeboxes which we cover before filling them.
There will be a box at the back of the church where you are invited to place things we may use in our boxes. If anyone is spring cleaning or downsizing we try and add different things such as a piece of costume jewellery or some cutlery to each box. I will leave a few leaflets that may help you see what we use and a list of suggested fillers if you are spring cleaning!

Many thanks
Denise

Music

Scale
Your Sunday music group is very grateful for your kind comments and encouragement for its contribution to our Maxwell morning services.   We enjoy working with our locum ministers - Mike, Alister, et al and hearing our congregation enthusiastically singing the songs and hymns.

From time to time, however,  we will need to take the ‘occasional holiday’ and ideally have a rota for Sunday mornings.    We would therefore welcome interest from other members of our congregation to join us as singers and/or keyboard players.  You will receive great support and coaching.  If you can help us – please have a word with Ian after a morning service.

Tea / Coffee Rota

bring own cup
11 February - Lynnette Hilditch, Karen Mowat, Lesley Young
18 February -

There are spaces on the rota so please consider putting your name down for the rota as the more folk help, the less frequently you will be called upon.

We are really trying to become greener and it really helps if people bring their own cups/mugs.

Thank you
Jackie and Norman

Books

apologetics
There will be a table at the back of the church with books that were on shelves in the halls.
Rather than them collecting dust you are invited to peruse the titles and take home any you may wish to read.
Once you have finished with a title you may pass it on to a friend or return it to the table.
Thanks, Denise

Maxwell Pray Now Group

Pray Now is a WhatsApp group for Maxwell members
pray now
This group sends out occasional requests for prayer. In particular those which might be regarding things more acute or immediate. At present there are 17 of us who, when we receive a request for prayer, stop what we are doing and pray for whatever has been asked.

Are you on the Pray Now WhatsApp Group? If you want to be added to the group to receive prayer news then simply ask Denise and she will add your number to the list.

If you have a matter that you would like to be prayed about in this way, you can contact Denise Lowson and she will organise for news to be sent out.
