Who we are?

Are you new to the church or the area? If so, you are very welcome!

Please do check out our New to Church page to get all the information about what goes on at our church.

We are ordinary local people gripped by the Good News of Jesus Christ!

When the original Church of Scotland congregation, Maxwell Parish Church, had to make way for the building of the Kingston Bridge, the congregation relocated to the Mearns in June 1970. We remain part of this larger Church denominational grouping but have grown locally to include a congregation from all ages and stages of life as well as many different church backgrounds and none! Some of us have been Christians for many years and some of us are still putting the pieces together!

Our worship overflows from the Bible, the Word of God, which we believe speaks with authority into and over all of life. The reading and understanding of God’s Word are therefore central to all we do. We express our worship in song with both traditional and contemporary praise. We pray for and with one another.

We find ourselves comforted by the love and goodness of God. However, we are also made uncomfortable as God challenges us in His Word to live His way in our current generation!

Our prayer is that we live out our Christian faith honestly, openly and faithfully before God wherever we find ourselves on any day of the week. As we grow and mature together in serving the Lord we want also to share the amazingly good news of Jesus Christ with neighbours, family and friends.

Serving, sharing, growing in Christ; we all have a part in this as “church”.
